Our Story.
Bloom Hospitality & Catering is a family-owned and operated catering company in the heart of Springfield, Illinois. Gabi Thompson and John Huffman launched the business in May 2023. Gabi has more than two decades of experience in hospitality and management.
Bloom provides full-service off-site catering, from intimate meals to large banquets.
So, whether you are getting married, throwing a baby shower, or hosting a corporate event, Gabi and her team will create a delicious menu with a modern twist on American cuisine that works for you.

Meet The Team.
Gabi - Owner
Gabi launched Bloom Hospitality & Catering to honor her late father and create a legacy for his grandchildren. Gabi grew up in the hospitality business, spending every moment possible at their restaurant Scampy’s, owned by her mom and dad in Springfield, Illinois. Now, with the love and support from family, she and John have launched a full-service catering company.
John - Owner
John is an entrepreneur with an eye for numbers. He grew up in Rochester, Illinois, and now lives in Springfield. John and Gabi launched Bloom together to bring a unique, custom catering option to our community. John plays many roles within the company, and is truly our right hand man.
Tanya - Kitchen Operations
Tanya brings decades of kitchen experience to Bloom. She and Gabi have been collaborating in kitchens since 2010. Her cooking skills are one of a kind, and sure to please all guests.
Alex - Director of Events
Alex specializes in extraordinary customer service. She has an eye for creating memorable events! From start to finish, Alex will make sure your event is perfection.
